Home

This page is displayed when you click on the "house" icon at the top left.

It shows all the zones you have defined, as well as the devices associated with them.

A zone can be a single room or a set of rooms. It can also represent an outdoor space, such as a garden or a swimming pool, be virtual, such as a home infrastructure or an IT space, or even represent a car. In short, a zone is a grouping of sensors and actuators, often interdependent, where for example lights are activated in response to the sensors.

The zones and devices are visible according to your settings, which we will detail below.

As you can see, devices, often called "devices", appear as buttons. Each device or button triggers a specific action, which of course depends on the type of device.

Comment : Although the interface is simple and elegant, our goal is to make your casasmooth as smart as possible so that you don't even need to manipulate a button or use an interface on your phone or computer. This is of course possible if you have the required devices, our goal remains a maximally automated operation, a totally "smooth" experience.

Device - lamp

For example, here we clicked or touched a button representing a lamp. Depending on its functionality, the lamp offers additional options, such as turning it on and off — which are the minimum — and then other options such as adjusting the brightness, color, or color temperature, etc.

Again, the options available depend on the type of lamp installed, and it would take too long to detail them all here.

Automation buttons

After the lighting section, you will find, if enabled, a part dedicated to standard automations, requiring a brief explanation. These elements are visible in the screenshot.

  • An icon with bright bulbs allows you to easily adjust the lighting of all lamps in the area from 0% to 100%.

  • An icon with dimmer bulbs allows you to switch the lighting of all the lamps in the area from 0% to 50%. Note that if some lamps do not support this command, they will remain off.

  • A button to disable motion detection in the area, if available. This is particularly useful in a sleeping room where you want to avoid any interruption of light.

Device - lock

Here we clicked or touched a button representing a lock.

In this case, only lock/unlock options are available.

Remember that if you access this page from outside your home, you will be able to lock or unlock the door remotely, opening up many possibilities, such as allowing temporary access to a trusted person, etc.

Device - heating

Another example: here we have pressed the button on a thermostat.

We note that it allows you to modify several parameters, such as the temperature, the operating mode (heating, air conditioning, etc.), the ventilation speed, and the direction of the air flow.

You may have noticed that each control window has a "graph" shaped button in the upper right corner.

This button gives access to the statistics of the displayed device, here the heating history, we have presented an example, at the bottom right to illustrate our point.

Setting

As mentioned, you can set up your casasmooth in a simple and efficient way, we will show you how.

Start by clicking on the “Settings” button which is located under the icon bar, on the far left.

Note that to return to the display without settings, you just need to press the "Settings" button a second time!

home.png

Area selection

You have just clicked on the "Settings" button, and your main display now shows, on the left, a list of buttons to activate the display of zones.

You can select the ones that seem useful to you, because it is not always relevant to display them all, especially if some work completely automatically.

The order in which the zones are displayed can be changed by adding a numbering at the beginning of the name, for example "10. My Zone" will place this zone at the top of the list and automatically remove the "10" and the dot "." in the display, don't forget the dot.

Display settings

Scroll down a bit on your page, your main display now shows, on the left, a list of all available settings, under the heading "display".

It is important to note that your screen may differ from the example shown here, as it depends on the defined zones and installed devices.

Important note : The settings you make will apply to all users of your casasmooth. This approach reduces the risk of misunderstandings.

Moving on to the display: everyone has their own preferences, and you can select which elements you want to display. For example:

  • The title of the area, possibly including brief information for some devices, such as temperature or humidity.

  • A thumbnail of the area for a more user-friendly display.

  • The subtitles of the different sections.

  • Device categories and features based on your preferences and setup.

Feel free to test some adjustments on your casasmooth to see the result.

Domain settings

Continuing down past the list of zones, you will reach the domains section. The different settings are organized by domain to make configuration easier:

  • Hourly

  • Lighting

  • Heating

  • Security

These domains can be enabled or disabled according to your needs. As some are rarely used, this selection allows you to simplify your interface.

domains.png

Setting up domains - example

If you have selected all domains, you will see a complete list of all settings topics. Of course, this may vary depending on the packages you have activated. We will go through each of these topics below.

Screenshot 2024-11-20 170709.png

Zone settings - schedules

Schedules can be fixed or variable depending on the packs you have. For fixed schedules, you define the hours precisely, while variable schedules adapt to the seasons. For example, in some areas, fixed schedules may be preferred because people get up every morning at 6am, regardless of the season. In others, a seasonal adjustment is ideal to optimize energy use and only turn on the lights when it is relevant.

So you set the start time for the different periods of the day.

The option at the bottom of the list allows you to enable automatic schedule adaptation, if this feature is included in your packages.

Zone settings - lighting

In this section you can configure many settings to make your accommodation perfectly "smooth".

Screenshot 2024-11-20 170757.png

Setting up zones - lighting - various settings

The zone you configure may be included in different automations available in some packages. Here's an overview:

  • The lights in this area can participate in the welcome sequence, turning on automatically for a few seconds when you arrive home or when you request it using the "Welcome" button.

  • Similarly, you can enable a welcome sound if that suits you.

  • This area can be integrated into the presence simulation system. In simulation mode, the system replays the activities recorded in the selected areas by randomly choosing a recent day to imitate your presence.

  • The option to include in weather data indicates that this area is probably outdoor, equipped with sensors such as an anemometer, rain gauge, etc. This information will be displayed on the weather dashboard, available in a special pack.

  • The TV option allows you to associate a scene, from 1 to 4, which is automatically activated when your television starts playing content, as long as it is supported (Chromecast, etc.). You can thus create an atmosphere with subtle lighting behind the TV, plunge the rest of the room into darkness and fully enjoy your session.

Zone settings - lighting - brightness in %

Depending on the capabilities of your lighting, you can adjust the brightness according to the times of day.

Screenshot 2024-11-13 154653.png

Setting up zones - lighting - colors

Depending on the capabilities of your lighting, you can adjust the color temperature or choose specific shades depending on the time of day.

Screenshot 2024-11-13 154729.png

Setting up zones - lighting - scenes

If you set scenes for different times of day, they will take precedence over all other lighting settings.

Screenshot 2024-11-20 171235.png

Zone settings - lighting - standard automation

This automation controls the switching on and off of lights in the area taking into account the defined schedule and brightness parameters.

If an advanced automation is active at the same time, it will take priority.

You have the flexibility to combine standard and advanced automations as needed.

auto.png

Zone settings - lighting - advanced automation

Optimal lighting only turns on when you are present, and for a duration you set. The time delay restarts automatically each time a new presence is detected. You can choose to activate automatic lighting according to the time of day: for example, by opting for an automatic detection mode for part of the day and fixed lighting for another, by activating standard automation instead. If both modes are activated simultaneously, presence detection takes priority.

To refine detection or respond to specific cases, you can integrate cameras and door detectors as additional triggers.

Screenshot 2024-11-13 155113.png

Setting up zones - lighting - illumination

Lighting should always be adjusted according to the ambient light level for optimal comfort and total fluidity. Indeed, the light in a room must adapt to natural light, which varies according to the time of day. Thus, the effect of artificial lighting will not be the same in broad daylight as in the evening. For this reason, you can set a minimum threshold in lux below which the lighting turns on automatically. Choose from the scale below the lux range that seems most appropriate to you and adapt it according to the desired use:

  • 0.001 to 0.01 lux: Dark night without moon

  • 0.1 to 1 lux: Clear night with moon

  • 10 to 50 lux: Twilight or low street lighting

  • 100 to 500 lux: Interior with moderate lighting (e.g. living room in the evening)

  • 500 to 1,000 lux: Well-lit office or interior

  • 1,000 to 10,000 lux: Outdoors in cloudy weather or shaded area

  • 10,000 to 25,000 lux: Outdoors with partially overcast sky

  • 25,000 to 100,000 lux: Full sunlight outdoors

Screenshot 2024-11-13 154929.png

Setting up zones - lighting - delays

When the light is activated by detection, the system begins a time countdown. At the end of this delay, the light intensity will decrease by half for one second, then briefly return to normal. This subtle flashing lets you know that the delay is about to end. If a new event is detected before the delay ends, the countdown will start over.

Screenshot 2024-11-13 155026.png

Zone settings - heating

The heating section allows you to:

  • Set target temperatures

  • Intelligently automate heating

  • Avoid unnecessary heating periods

listheating.png

Zone settings - heating - temperature

You can set temperature settings for different times of the day and by zone. In the case of heaters equipped with thermostats, these will ensure that the setting is respected. For others, such as additional heaters without an integrated thermostat, they will only activate if the temperature drops below this setting, thus eliminating the risk of leaving a heater without a thermostat on unnecessarily.

time.png

Zone settings - heating - automation

Depending on the packages you have, you can enable or disable automations. These take into account the presence in a zone as well as other parameters such as temperature and delays. Presence-based activation is particularly useful for heating or air conditioning, allowing them to activate only when the zone is occupied, thus avoiding energy waste.

advheatauto.png

Zone settings - heating - delays

When the heating is activated by sensors, you can choose to leave it on for a certain period of time. This only applies to equipment controlled by single sockets; for others, it is the thermostat that applies the setpoint. Your thermostatic valves and air conditioning or warm air heating systems will therefore not be affected.

This way a temporary radiator will not run for too long. If a new event is detected before the end of the delay, the countdown starts again from zero.

Screenshot 2024-11-13 155321.png

Zone Settings - Security

In this section you will be able to:

  • Indicate whether you want this zone to be included in intrusion detection and define how it should participate in the alarm.

  • Specify whether you want casasmooth to perform checks and take certain actions when you leave the premises.

securitylist.png

Zone settings - security - taking into account

The alarm system uses various sensors, such as motion detectors, presence sensors, door opening sensors, and camera feeds. Detection is not necessary in all zones, so you can enable or disable this option per zone.

The captured signals can be weighted: in a passage area, you can assign a low weight to the detections, while in a more sensitive area, such as a secure room, a high weight will be more appropriate. The sum of the weights and the triggering events will be used to determine whether an alarm should be triggered.

In the event of an alarm, you can also configure the zone so that lights and speakers activate, reinforcing the alert signaling.

Remember that all this will only work if the necessary devices are installed.

secursensors.png

Zone settings - security - checks

Each zone can be equipped with automatic locks, door and window sensors.

casasmooth will check if the locks are working and automatically close them according to your settings.

You can also decide to have the doors and windows checked when you leave your accommodation, you will receive notifications if this is not the case.
